To all our Sled Hockey supporters

As we spoke about at this year’s 10th annual Wings of Steel golf outing, there is now a place for our kids to keep playing Sled Hockey once they age out of the youth program. This team is called the Flyers Adult sled hockey team, and like the youth team they need help with costs. So, I am starting a golf outing to help support these young adults. Since this is in the infant stage and I am not sure the response I will get, not everything will be the same as the Wings. The date is Friday, October 6th at the Ramblewood CC, and we have enclosed the registration form, which you can send back via mail or to my email address: mikecostantino8@comcast.net.

Wings of Steel Golf Tournament Update:

Thank you! Those are the first two words that come to mind after this year's golf outing at the Ramblewood Country Club. Thank you for attending the Tenth Annual Virtua Wings of Steel Golf Tournament which benefits the kids who puts on their uniform for their sled hockey team. Thank you for all of the generosity shown on the course and in the club house by those who not only gave up their time but also their donations to a wonderful cause. All of us from the Wings of Steel want to thank you for participating in this year’s golf outing.

A Letter of Thanks

We began this outing as a trial. There were a few skeptics, but they pitched in anyway and what a great ride this has been over the last 9 years. Every year the Wings of Steel annual Golf outing has continued to surpass the previous year’s fundraising results. That success is through the efforts of our families and benefactors. We are truly blessed and fortunate to have a network of support that simply wants to see these kids have the opportunity play sled hockey.

Upcoming Wings Fund raiser and Future Endeavors

The Wings have a busy few months coming up. In early April we travel to Detroit to defend our Championship that we won last year in Buffalo. It won’t be easy, but it will be FUN!! We have a few new players that this will be there first extended road trip, they will see first-hand how we party Wings Style!!. Later in April we have our 9th annual Golf outing, as everyone knows this is our biggest fund raiser of the year and typically sells out, so make sure you get your foursomes in to us and reserve your dinner spots as well.

GMan scores first goal as a Teenager as Wings beat Vineland

Garrett Goebel, known affectionately as Gman to teammates and fans in the sled hockey world, scored his first goal since turning thirteen, as the Wings of Steel defeated the Vineland sled stars 6-1 in league action played at the Skate Zone on Saturday. Isiah Beck led the offensive attack with three goals. Yazid Ismael started his first game in nets for the Wings and allowed just the one goal. Ismael got some help on the defensive front as Paul “Freight Train “Tursi, made his first start after coming off surgery and was a force on defense along with Robert “the Beast” Vettese.

Skate Against The Wings of Steel

The Wings Of Steel would like to know if your team would be interested in playing the Wings Sled Hockey team. Your players would play the game in sleds which we would provide.

It is a great way to expose your players and parents to the world of disabilities and at the same time teach your kids what it is like to be disabled for an hour and a half while our kids are disabled 24/7. It is also a great way to bring your kids together as a team bonding activity.
